Critical Care Companion Animal Fund Application Guidelines
The Critical Care Companion Animal Fund was established to provide financial assistance to pet owners so veterinarians can care for that owner’s pet during an emergency or critical care situation. The CCCAF also aids shelter pets with life-saving procedures that give these animals a second chance at a great life. The CCCAF was created and co-sponsored by PAWS for Life Animal Adoption League and The Stock Doc Veterinary Services. The Fast and the Furriest 5k Race is a fun and competitive family and pet fun run that is the primary fundraiser for the CCCAF.
The fund is available due to non-profit fundraising. Thus, it is not unlimited and requires that the Critical Care Companion Animal Fund board members receive an application with clear and complete information.
To qualify for funds, the client must meet the following guidelines:
- The applicant must be seeking assistance for one animal in need of Emergency or Critical Care (any disease that is causing pain/infection/or poor quality of life is included).
- The applicant must obtain a diagnosis and treatment plan before applying.
Animals must be spayed/neutered or be spayed/neutered within a 4-week period after treatment. - The applicant must have some proof of limited income or a recent change in job/life change or denied CareCredit/ScratchPay.
- Applicant must be able to pay a minimum of $200 down before service is started.
Must be a resident of Fremont County - The total amount applied for will be no more than 50% of the total bill and no more than $500.
- The remainder of the bill must be paid off within 4 weeks, or funds will be forfeited.
- Any animal presented from Paws for Life Animal Adoption League/Lander Pet Connection/Western Fremont Humane Society will qualify (they already demonstrate limited income; however, all other guidelines will be in effect as well). This amount should not exceed 25% of the total profit from that calendar year.
- A PAWS-CCCAF Committee member must be notified and must approve the funds for the applicant after being nominated by a Veterinarian
- All of the above are ultimately Guidelines. Please be respectful of the guidelines and know that every scenario is different, and we are here FOR THE PET!
- The Stock Doc Veterinary Services Employees and associated family members are not eligible for CCCAF Funds.
An individual may be nominated up to two times for Critical Care Funds. In order to be considered a third time we ask you to perform one of the following options:- Donate the amount approved for back to the CCCAF
- Work as a volunteer at a Fast and the Furriest 5K Fundraiser
- Procure 3 Sponsorships for the Fast and the Furriest 5K Fundraiser
- Organize a fundraiser of your own to raise money for the CCCAF
